If, after reading this guide, you have any questions about doing your own Sailgroove coverage, please contact me at chris@sailgroove.org and I will be happy to guide you through it.

Set up a coverage page
Hint:  You can do this in advance of the event, as early as you want to.

1.  Sign up for a free Sailgroove account at sailgroove.org/site/register
2.  Go to sailgroove.org/coverage/manage/create to create a new page for your regatta.
3.  Fill in the information and be sure to click the green "Save Changes" button at the bottom.
4.  Be sure to find a logo or picture to represent your coverage.  If you don't have one now, you can add it later.
Hint: It will appear in the coverage section under the month in which it takes place, accessible by clicking the "Coverage" link on the blue bar.

Take some pictures
1.  Use any digital camera or cell phone
2.  Go to the coverage page and click [Add Photos]
3.  Upload them from your computer or directly from the camera.
Hint: Sailgroove will shrink photos to a width of 640 pixels.  If you can resize them before uploading, it will go faster.

Take some videos
1.  Try to buy or borrow a camera with a digital format like hard drive or memory stick.  It will make things easier.
2.  Shoot interviews with sailors, highlights from racing and other fun or goofy videos--be creative!  Make sure to get people's names and spellings.
3.  Shoot only what you want to put on the site.  If you don't record extra footage, you won't have to do any editing.
4.  Go to the coverage page and click [Add Videos]
5.  Upload them from your computer or directly from the camera.  Once you install the uploader, all you have to do is drag and drop.
Hint: It's easier to rename the videos with clever titles before you put them on the site, but you can also do it later.

Add results
1.  Go to the results section by clicking "results" on the blue bar.
2.  Log in and click "Submit Result" on the right.

Get noticed
1.  Email me a high resolution photo from the regatta and I will turn it into a banner for the homepage linking to your regatta coverage.
2.  Enjoy the fame and glory that will follow.

That's it!  It might seem complicated at first, but after poking around for a few minutes, things will begin to make sense.  Try these steps now with some test videos.  You can always delete them.

Good Luck!
