Flash Gordon 5 Wins 2009 Rolex Farr 40 North American Championship


Chicago, Illinois, USA (September 30, 2009) – Flash Gordon 5, the Farr 40 owned by Helmut Jahn won the 2009 Rolex Farr 40 North American Championship, held September 24-27 in Chicago, Ill. Anna Tunnicliffe Named 2009 ISAF Rolex World Sailor of the Year Nominee


Portsmouth, R.I. (September 28, 2009) – The International Sailing Federation (ISAF) has named US Sailing Team AlphaGraphics’ (USSTAG) Anna Tunnicliffe (Plantation, Fla.) a nominee for the 2009 ISAF Rolex World Sailor of the Year Award, the most prestigious recognition in the sport of sailing. Tunnicliffe was chosen based on her outstanding achievement during the qualifying period of September 1, 2008 to August 31, 2009. Taselaar’s team included Jeremy Wilmot (Newport, R.I.) as tactician and his brother Nathan (Sydney, Australia), who is a 470 Men’s Olympic Gold medalist (2008). Audi Melges 32 World Championship starts tomorrow in Porto Cervo

The Yacht Club Costa Smeralda’s sailing season in Porto Cervo is about to close in style with the twelfth and final event of the season being an inaugural ISAF World Championship for one of the most exciting and rapidly expanding one-design classes around. Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup 2009 concludes


Interview by Giles Pearman PORTO CERVO, ITALY (12 September 2009) -- After five splendid racing days with stable conditions featuring north to northeasterly winds, sunshine, blue skies and choppy seas, the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup 2009 has drawn to a close.  Organized by the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda in conjunction with the International Maxi Association, the event which is now in its 20th edition, saw 42 maxis competing and between five to seven races held for each of the various divisions over the course of the series.
