Conti Repeats as Rolex Osprey Cup Champion


Photos © Reneé Athey/SPYC St. Petersburg, Fla., USA (October 25, 2009) – Italy’s Giulia Conti won the 2009 Rolex Osprey Cup – one of only two ISAF Grade 1 women’s match racing events in the U.S. – held at the St. Petersburg Yacht Club (St. Petersburg, Fla.), from October 21-24.  Along with crew Lisa Lardani, Alessandra Angelini and Giovanna Micol, Conti (Toscolano Maderno, Italy) defeated Anna Tunnicliffe (Plantation, Fla.) in the ‘first to win three’ final match format. Skip Dieball Claims US SAILING’s Championship of Champions


LAKE CARLYLE, Ill. (October 17, 2009) – Skip Dieball and crew Jody and Tom Starck expanded the four point lead they had through 14 races yesterday by dropping an impressive, 2-1-3, line in today’s three races to win US SAILING’s Championship of Champions by a 13 point margin.“Most national championships are tough enough,” said Dieball. "Coming here to face 19 other national and world champions is incredibly challenging. Winning this regatta is really gratifying. Tunnicliffe and Team Capture First Rolex International Women's Keelboat Title

US SAILING Seeks Nominations for Coach of the Year Awards


Portsmouth, R.I. (October 1, 2009) – US SAILING’s Olympic Sailing Committee (OSC) seeks nominations from the public for the 2009 Coach of the Year Awards in Sailing. The awards are a part of the United States Olympic Committee’s (USOC) Coach Recognition Program which highlights the accomplishments and contributions of coaches who train athletes at all levels of sailing. The OSC will nominate sailing coaches in five categories: National Coach of the Year, Developmental Coach of the Year, Volunteer Coach of the Year, Paralympic Coach of the Year and the “Doc” Counsilman Science Award.
