Simon Payne Wins PUMA Moth Worlds


Photos by ThMartinez/Sea&Co March 14, 2010- Today was the final day of 2010 PUMA Moth Worlds.  The Race Committee was forced with an early onshore postponement for lack of wind.  After a morning on shore, the breeze in Dubai filled in nicely to get Race 13 off at 12:45 local with a reported wind of 11 knots.    Simon Payne led the fleet going into the day. Fire strikes UNH sailing team's boat house

USA WIN 33RD AMERICA'S CUP MATCH BMW ORACLE Racing Team’s revolutionary wing sail powered trimaran USA convincingly won Race 2 off Valencia today to win the 33rd America’s Cup match outright. RACE 1 POSTPONED. Another Snipe Sighting at Clearwater Yacht Club


by Sara (Sally) Green and Dick Boblenz Once again, a flock of Snipes has flown through CYC leaving history in its wake.  On March 9 - 11, CYC hosted her 71st Snipe Midwinter Regatta. Paralympic Gold Medalist Nick Scandone Loses Battle with ALS


By US Sailing ussailing.org   2008 Paralympic Gold Medalist Nick Scandone passed away Friday, after a long battle with ALS, or Lou Gehrig’s Disease, a debilitating neurodegenerative disease that affects the nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. Mayhem Takes Title at 2008 IRC East Coast Championship Annapolis, Md. (November 4, 2008) – With the defending champion, John Kilroy’s Samba Pa Ti, out of the mix, the 2008 IRC East Coast Championship title was up for grabs this past weekend in Annapolis, Md. The three-day regatta, run by the Storm Trysail Club’s Chesapeake Station, consisted of a 29.64nm distance race on Friday and five windward/leeward races on Saturday and Sunday. CONTI WINS ROLEX OSPREY CUP St. Petersburg, Fla., USA (October 28, 2008) – Italy’s Giulia Conti won the 2008 Rolex Osprey Cup – one of only two ISAF Grade 1 women’s match racing events in the U.S. – held at the St. Petersburg Yacht Club (St. Petersburg, Fla.), from October 22-25.  Along with crew Alessandra Marenzi, Alessandra Angelini, Giovanna Micol, Conti (Toscolano Maderno, Italy) defeated Debbie Capozzi (Bayport, N.Y.) in the ‘first to win three’ final match format.
