Today was the last day of racing at the USSTAG Qualifier here in Miami. We had a light air, warm day, quite different from yesterday's conditions. Sally Barkow's team won their final match in their semi-final match up and then continued their winning streak by taking the series in the finals 3-0 over us. We had a couple of great races with Barkow and team, but they sailed an excellent series and got the better of us.

Our first race started with us leading at the top mark after a tacking dual all the way up the first beat. On the downwind leg, we each took a couple of turns to roll over the top of the other boat before Barkow got to the leeward mark ahead. From there on, up the windward leg, the lead changed back and forth a couple of times until on the final downwind leg she got ahead of us and we couldn't quite catch back up by the finish line. The second race was a very similar race. In the third race we started at the wrong side of the line and couldn't catch up as the race seemed to turn into a one sided leg, the side we weren't on.

Her team sailed better than us today and they deserved the win. We continue to learn lessons and take away much information that will help us down the road.

You can check the results online at the regatta website.

Tomorrow our team has the day off before we jump back into training again on Tuesday. We are looking forward to the day off, and plan to relax, bike and go rock climbing.

We would like to thank Carmeuse and Trinity Yachts for their continued support of our campaign for the 2012 Olympics in London. We would also like to thank US Sailing Team AlphaGraphics (USSTAG) and its sponsors for their support.
