The 2011 DN Gold Cup world championship and North American Championship began as scheduled on Sunday, January 30. As is always the case with Iceboating, the venue that was announced in the NOR and online schedule was not a particular club or lake, but the entire "North American Western Region," since it wouldn't be known which site would be usable until just days before the regatta began.
