US Women's Match Racing Champions!

Hi All,

I got home past midnight last night after a long day of flying back from St. Thomas… where my team of Alana O’Reilly, Chafee Emory, Liz Hall and I clinched the victory in the US Women’s Match Racing Championships!!! After finishing the round robins second, we had a thrilling light air best of five finals against Anna Tunnicliffe’s team, and ended up defeating them 3-1. We had two very close races, and I’ve described them pretty much play by play on my website if you’re interested in reading more (hoping to get pictures up soon). We can't thank enough the hospitality of everyone in St. Thomas, St. Thomas Yacht Club, and our hosts Denise and Peter Holmberg for showing us how wonderful life in the islands can be. Especially can't wait to return next month for the Carlos Aguilar Match Race, where we’ll try to defend our win from last year!

I followed the US Women’s Match Racing Championship and remained rather impressed))) The 2009 US Women’s Match Racing Championships were held in St. Thomas, USVI from November 12 to 15. The best female match racers in the United States and their crew came down to the Virgin Islands to race in our one-design IC 24s and were treated to every imaginable weather condition that the Caribbean had to offer. It is indeed worth while watching!
