Description
Medal races were introduced in the 2008 Olympics. In order to make the last day of racing more exciting, each class sails a special race on the last day, the medal race. The target race time is shorter, about 30 minutes for most classes, the results count double and the score may not be dropped. It's not surprising then that 9 classes' final results were determined by their medal race this year.
