Description

Grosse Pointe Yacht Club hosted the 2009 MISSA Mallory Qualifier for the ISSA National Championships during the weekend of April 25-26. Sailors from Illinois, Michigan, and Minnesota completed. After 18 races, New Trier High School of Winnetka, Illinois was crowned champion. The Trevians won both A and B divisions behind co-captains Stephanie Hudson (A) and Drew Shea (B). New Trier is coached by Matt Clark and Frank Ustach of Chicago Yacht Club. Loyola Academy of Wilmette, Illinois earned the district's second position at Nationals by outlasting defending champion Lake Forest. Grosse Pointe North (MI) finished fourth followed by Minnetonka HS (MN) in fifth.
