The 2009 Columbia Yacht Club Skyline Regatta.
June 24-26
The regatta started off this year with a clinic run by Hunter Ratliff, a well known sailor, and an amazing coach. The weather did not cooperate but Hunter put on a great clinic non-the-less. Starting the clinic off with a talk about rigging and boat speed, followed by working with all the kids on tuning and setting up there boats giving the junior sailors some hands on experience getting there boats ready for a race.
Day 1 of racing was a slow day, with winds 0-5 knots the race committee struggled to get in races but were able to successfully complete two. Day 2 was the opposite with winds gusting to over 15 knots and the race committee was able to get in five races on the Laser/420 course and six races on the Opti course.
A big thanks goes out to all our volunteer, especially the race committee's and our two PRO's Joey Harris and Lynn Walls.
