Tell you what, this string is not very sailgoove. It looks more like every Red Sox article that is posted on ESPN.com where rabid flat brimmed mega fans from NY start bashing on each other for no apparent reason... just breathe people, predictions are never as accurate as results.

The first few post were obviously made by the same person(Chris can likely verify this through IP). Log in or reveal yourself if you want to have any credibility. If you want to be a wiseass go to the Sailing Anarchy forums.

Thank you Chris/Erik for another good discussion.

Prediction: URI wins the first Fall Moody Intersectional(moved from spring).

Let's just clear this all up. At the time of the Chalk Talk, the list of teams did not include ODU. That was simply a typo. ODU will be there and from what I understand with their top team. Chris and Erik cannot be faulted for that and people need to ease up.
See video reply.

I am sure they would have had some mentioning of the pre-regatta report was accurate. Can we now go back to sailing. The lady monarchs seemed to do pretty well last season flying under the radar. I don't think the misinformation is going to affect them.

My predictions based on teams listed on collegesailing.org for Navy Women's.
1) Cougars
2) SMC
3)Brown
4) Yale

2 Cents, ODU isn't listed at the event. Maybe it's out of date, but it sounds like the Monarchs won't be making an appearance in Annapolis.

If people want to disagree with chris and John's predictions then make your own, this whole site and video is for everyone''s benefit, to promote our sport, to help us learn about other teams.
Chris and John are doing an excelant job with their coverage and chalk talks, but here are my predictions, and something usefull in this post.
1. ODU for the win, they were ranked number 1 by a lot (13 of 16 first place votes) and with 2 of their top 3 skippers qualified for singles they are also fighting for a spot at acc's. They have 3 great sailors who ALL coud do well in FJ's or lasers.
for second I am going to agree with eric and say that SMC is going to pull through with their strong established womens A and B teams, along with the addition of Mimi in a radial also doing very well.
Third I am going to go with Yale, tough decision between Yale and Charlestown, but I think that Yale is going to pull it together here to round out the top 3 with their new freshman talent in the laser radial, going along with the theory of freshman doing well in lasers, I am expecting Lihan to finish top 5 in A, and for one of the new freshman laser sailors to do very well in c division, as far as B division I do not know the team well enough to say who that would be or how she will do.

Everyone is so quick to complain about Sailgroove's coverage, but you guys forget that only 2 years ago there was NO coverage of college sailing (outside of rankings). Chris, and all of the contributors, have done a great job creating a place for people to not only watch but discuss college sailing. Just the fact that you are here posting comments right after his video is added is proof of this. You just need to learn to zip it, if you don't agree with what Chris and Eric have to say then don't watch the video. On another note, Chris and all of the Sailgroove contributors I know many people that routinely check out Sailgroove for your coverage of college sailing. Keep up the good work and ignore those clowns with nothing good to say.

For those who are upset, you should know that they have no more research available to them as you do. Go to collegesailing.org and read the list of teams said to be attending Navy Women's this weekend. You may notice that neither of the top two teams in the rankings are listed. If they are attending, it was a late add which Erik and Chris were unaware of. They mentioned teams 3-7 as a result of their research showing them that neither of those top teams would be there.

They also apologized for not having called coaches this week and said they would do so in the future.

What are you people angry about? They picked the teams they think will do well, and if you're not one of those teams too freaking bad. If you want to be talked about during chalk talk then win the regatta. Shut up and sail.

Oh, and stop using the wrong version of your and you're. I mean, you're in college.

Chiggins 3 years ago

I think it's pretty close to impossible for Chris and Erik to recognize every deserving sailor and program each week. In the end, they're doing a great job and should be praised for it. If you're not happy with the predictions, show them they were wrong on the water with performance.

Every sport has teams and competitors that always seem to be underappreciated. So what. By the end of the season, it will all work itself out.

Hey now, they had plenty of time to get their information straight. Next time you do an interview, do a thorough job! Imagine if ESPN were to talk about rankings, but forgot to mention Florida? umm...yeah, a little offensive dont you think? Well...florida might not be the best comparision, as they are used to being in the spot light.

All in all. a lot of people watch sailgroove videos....next time YOU should be a bit more constructive to the conversation, and give quality information...thanks for giving back to the sport BTW! (makes fart noise using upper right corner of cheek)

Yeah, those whiners below are just mad they didn't get mentioned in the weekly report. Look, not everyone is going to get a shoutout. Think they're soooo off base, and they missed you? Why don't you show up and smoke the Navy Women's and give them something to talk about? And to help you do that, why don't you go practice instead of throwing a tantrum like a baby on sailgroove? (ok, I'm going sailing now)

Lady Sailor 3 years ago

Seriously, Pearce is right. Why not add something constructive to the conversation instead of ripping people that are actually trying to give back to the sport. How about adding your own predictions instead of just being total a-holes? It's awesome that they're even talking about women's sailing compared to Gary Jobson who leaves it out of the one piece of college sailing coverage he does each year.

John Pearce 3 years ago

Jeez- tough crowd. Maybe some of you guys should go sailing to blow of some steam instead of ripping on Chris and Erik.

comon dude...camel piss is disgusting...but you are right.

previous comment was excessive...Ex Sailgroover should replace camel piss with the word bogus...something less offensive

This idea of chalk talks would be good if you used credible information. Do some research it is not that hard. I believe everyone that listens to your analysis of the womens events will agree that it is total crap.

i think sailgroove just blurts crap out without doing research...HELLOOOOO rankings anyone?! haha...get it together sailgroove! you just made yourselves look like idiots! as a top source for sailing information, you might want to have your thoughts together before you post a video like this. right now your just as credible as...my poop

Concerning the Navy Fall Womes, If you are going to make predictions about teams I think it would be a good idea if you looked at the rankings first then maybe look at the teams to see if they even have 3 skippers to put together a team. Next there are other teams you might want to consider needing to qualify for this weekend for ACC's because they ALSO have 2 skippers going to single handed nationals. Do your research if your going to make predictions.
