I think it's just what San Fran needs! It would be awesome to watch AC72s duke it out not far from land especially with the conditions San Fransisco usually has!

Ellison's theory: making the boats faster will hopefully attract more viewers. More viewers is the overall goal for Ellison not keeping the integrity of match racing (the World Match Racing Tour can do that).

Monohulls haven't produced significant viewers in the past (about 4 billion tv viewers) so something has to change. The 2010 FIFA World Cup had over 100 Billion viewers. As much as I love tradition the sport needs to grow because it deserves the better.
