During TAMUGÂ’s re-location (students and faculty) to College Station, the Sailing Team has continued to compete. Thanks to everyone, the Team placed first and second in the MenÂ’s Singles and first in the WomenÂ’s Singles at Districts. As a result, TAMUG will be represented in the ICSA MenÂ’s and WomenÂ’s Singlehanded Nationals (an all-freshmen team!) at Cornell University in Ithaca NY Oct 24-26 (forecast calls for wind out of the south 8-14 knots; 40-60 degrees).
In addition, the Team finished a very close second to tu in the Sloops, despite no practice before the event. Also, the Team entered two teams in the Corpus Christi event, finishing first.
It is really exciting to watch your Team excel (in talent and enthusiasm) despite limited practice opportunities.

Hey Team,

I figured this Sailgroove team site would be a great way for us to keep in touch, especially during the evacuation.
Who knows, if people like it maybe we'll keep it going. It should be a great way for us to keep everyone updated on events, regattas, alumni, etc...
Feel free to add events, photos... and whatnot.
Also, after a regatta be sure to do a regatta "write-up" to keep everyone informed on how everyone did.
Cya @ practice!

This past weekend Texas A&M;hosted their Aggie Fall regatta. Conditions were terribly light and boring, it was basically a float fest. despite having 2 overweight boats (no offense!) we still placed 2nd place. David Valentine & Ben Robins sailed A-division, Laura Stamets & Jill Noack sailed B-division.

Great job guys!
