Brunswick, ME college Team
Founded in 1939, the Bowdoin Sailing Team has a rich tradition of competition in college sailing. The team keeps up an aggressive schedule each season, competing in three or four events each weekend from some of the top coed and womens intersectionals in the country all the way down to informal invites. Sailing is a varsity sport at Bowdoin with a fleet of 18 FJs (new in 2010) and 6 420s. The team has a clubhouse at Bethel Point on Quahog Bay, arguably the most beautiful venue for college sailing in the country. Bowdoin sailors practice daily amongst pine trees, the rocky shoreline, seals, bald eagles and lobster boats.
