The Toby Baker was establishedat the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in 1989 as the National Team Racing Championship Trophy. The Baker is named after Mr. Talbot Baker, Jr., who for years served as the Dean of School Coaches. He was thoroughly dedicated to school sailing and to team racing. Today the competition for the Baker is rotated among the seven Interscholastic Sailing Association districts.
