The first weekend of the 2011 Lighthouse Charity Regatta is now history. The event saw a great showing of Lasers, Sunfish, 420s, Flyins Scots and a handful of boats, including a hand build Saber, in the handicap fleet.

There was no lack of wind on Saturday. Winds for Sunday were forecast to be very high so the decision to hold 4 races on Saturday was made. A great dinner and dance, with the Wise Guys providing the music, was held Saturday night.
Sunday morning the forecast high winds showed up with gusts into the 40s. As a result, racing was cancelled and awards presented. I am please to announce OCU Team 1, Chris (helm) and Alvin (crew), took 1st place in the 420 class and OCU Team 2, Svetlana (helm) and Thanh (crew) took 2nd place.
The second weekend of the Lighthouse Charity Regatta is coming up fast (June 25-26) for keelboat competition. Looks like OCU Sailing will enter a Catalina 22.
