Chris, Pat, I'm one of your biggest fans, but I can't help but be a little disappointed that you made no mention of the Joe Duplin Women's Team Race. This is the first year that this event is a women's 3v3 team race, and on top of that it's in the coolest boat in college sailing, the Lark. |

Team Racing

In terms of team racing the true indicator of a team's success is how good their second team is. With a solid second team the top team is going to be motivated by people challenging them for their starting spots while getting high quality reps at practice. This can often create a situation where practice becomes harder than 95% of the races at a team race intersectional. As such, I would expect GTN, BC, CofC and SMC to stay on top and continue to further themselves from the pack. In my mind these are the only teams in the country that can field an elite quality second team. Each of these teams has sailed people outside their top 6 at top team race regattas and has maintained a high level of success. Look for these four come nationals... |

Before you make predictions, try to consider all the facts...I think their prediction contest is for a 6-pack, not a berth at nationals. Maybe they should have mentioned the Owen in addition to the Szambecki, but mainly they were just previewing the regatta Chris will be at this weekend, so who cares? Good point about MAISA teams doing well at MAISA venues. Unfortunately, it was kind of lost in your negativity. Personally, I think Yale and BC will dominate more as the schedule moves north, but I don't see any other NEISA teams challenging the MAISA "top teams." What does everyone else think? |

you guys sound like a bunch of hacks name dropping around a keg.Since you are so "in touch" with college sailing, when was the last time anyone put in this much effort to provide media coverage at college regattas? I sailed for 4 years at the top level regattas and have maybe 4 pictures of me sailing and zero videos. I think the service that this site provides to college sailing is invaluable and anyone who is "in touch" with the sport knows that. Maybe you don't agree with everything these guys are saying, maybe you think you could do better. Since they are the only ones who are devoting time and money to providing this media maybe constructive comments would be more appropriate. |

Hey Guys,
Maybe it would help silence some of your critics if you were able to bring in guest commentators. Craig Thompson is the first person that comes to mind. He's eloquent, knowledgeable and obviously a huge supporter of Sailgroove. Maybe the week before or after a major women's intersectional you could have a female sailor on. Names like Alanna O'Reilley and Adrienne Patterson spring to mind after all Chris' time in the mid-Atlantic this spring.
Keep up the fantastic work! We only want to see the site grow and get better!
