"don't know what those other people are talking about..."

I don't think it's a coincidence that they all posted within a few minutes of each other...

i agree with "Not that Groovy". dont post groovy moves if they lack "corinthian spirit".

thats an annoying little girl.

if she is so goood, she should know people will tack on her if she sails below the lay line.

Not that Groovy 3 years ago

This is just about the worst Groovy move that has been posted. She tacked in a horrible position. She ended up clear astern of one boat, and directly to leeward of another. She should have just sailed a little bit above layline and gotten clear breeze. If she was as far ahead as Chris said, then an extra boat length up would have cost her less than the double tacking and "chattiness" at the mark. Not great spotsmanship or tactics... don't know what those other people are talking about...

wow... maddie nice job getting so far ahead and i have been in the same situation as you and personally the best way to handle a situation like this would be to just avoid them as much as possible. don't yell at them or else they are going to think that you are a jerk. just calmly give them encouragement and ask them not to tack on you politely.

Congrate On an awesome race! You did great! Rounding that mark when your in first, trying to cover the fleet, and lapping another group is already hard enough. But when your in a situation when they won't let you round the mark thats impossible. You did everything right. Nice Job! and Congrats!

well that young lady was trying to round the mark and two kids would not let her... if you where in thast situation you would do the same thing. She did nothing wrong.. she was just being friendly.

I don't see where Madison was wrong in this situation. I used to do that all the time in opti's. Good for her. Congrats on your great race, Maddie.

Asserting rules is one thing, but yelling at others is something reserved for the unsportsmanlike and the beginners, and apparently she is the former.

That is not how you should be treating fellow sailors, no matter how good you think you are. Get over yourself and be encouraging, not degrading.

agreed 3 years ago

since when is it a good thing to yell at other sailors?

that girl needs to have some respect on the racecourse.
