ICSA Coed Dingy Champs Conversation

Matthew C 3 years ago

ICSA was already in bed with ESPNU (the ocho) / Gary Jobson long before sailgroove crushed the coverage of Womens and Team Racing, and Chris is running around St. Francis with a bum phone trying to update his Twitter page. Which leaves all of us alone in front of a computer watching the scores refresh every hour on the ICSA site. Lets not do that. Chat here. Maybe if we get enough interest, we can get make improvements by the final day.

My thoughts so far: BC is murdering my bracket & Mike Menninger, St. Marys sopre from San Diego, is the real deal.

love how the groove beat the ocho to every interview. what a regatta, hot damn.

Runci is the only person to put ODU in his top 5. If BC passes Navy will it clinch the sweep for this young psychic?

Wow, only 2 people in the prediction contest picked SMC to win, and only 1 person chose Yale to win. BC and Charleston busting up a lot of brackets.

its not official or anything, just who is currently leading I guess...but dont worry SMC will stand tall!

The new program puts the team up that is currently winning.

does anyone know why it says that smc has already won? aren't they still racing today?

Craig Thompson 3 years ago

How about BU making moves today.

18th to start the day, 9th now. Impressive

marla broke her foot a while ago. its healing now, but this hiking is probably going to set her back a bit...

and if you pick alcatraz you can see the leeward mark

Pat Hitchins 3 years ago

haha Far OUT George....pick the "windsurfing cam" and you have a perfect view of the windward mark.

Here's a webcam from a nearby roof. Its a public venue and the view is not owned...

Top 5 3 years ago

Top 5 From Race 8A: RWU, Yale, HWS, BU, Tufts - Looks like the Terriers are pulling it together.

You're still talking about BK tho, maybe he needs a CONN style "break," afterall, he's he been racing nonstop for 5 days now? But i doubt you'd want to bench him for good. Can you doubt the fact that he could string together snake eyes?

Life's Big Questions 3 years ago

If he cared more about the national title, wouldn't he have pulled BK earlier (and permanently) ? He had no problem with doing that to Adam at NE Dinghy Champs.

The Boom 3 years ago

My guess is that greg probably cares more about the National Title, rather than CSOTY for BK, but given the conditions he'll keep BK in... that being said, my guess is that he'll get subbed soon.

Is Greg leaving BK in longer than he should in hopes that he'll recover and salvage his chances at CSOTY? Adam is also sailing below the very high standards that we've all come to expect from the eagles. How long before Tyler or Taylor goes into A division for the rest of the regatta?
Also, Marla takes the boot off to sail, which seems pretty incredible to me.

What's up with BTSpiller??

Race 1 Day 2 results:
1) Hobart has a big lead, SMC, ODU, Eckerd, Yale, BU, SUNY, Harvard, Tufts, Stanford, UPenn, G-town, USF, Navy, RWU, C of C, WAC, BC.

not one person saw this coming from BC. Can they recover from this tailspin?

yep, you're right 3 years ago

you're right. that was amazing.

That was a very breezy Trux that danny won, not the BDC

Casted Sailors 3 years ago

Danny Pletch sailed with a boot at the BDC(?) a few years back and also crushed. advantage?

Newps 3 years ago

The Menningers are from Newport Harbor. BIG DIF!
Speaking of the Menningers, does anyone know why Marla's been wearing a walking cast/boot, but can still sail (CRUSH) in breeze? It seems superhuman....

Tom Charpentier 3 years ago

Navy with an impressive surge to land them in the top 5. SMC dropped their first under midfleet finish of the regatta last race, but look to be finishing strong in this one. At this rate they'll be able to skip the last B set and still win.

so instead of seeing it live like the other events (which were fantastically done) we all have wait around and espnu puts it on in like 2 weeks at some weird time? thats lame BTW Jesse Kirkland is killing a-division

Tom Charpentier 3 years ago

Inhuman consistency from SMC at this point, that's all I got. I wish they were running tandem fleets so we had some hope of getting a full rotation in.
