They would be if they had better durability than, say, an eggshell. I don't think Rondar ever intended them for the sort of wear a college fleet takes. That said in, light-medium breeze on flat water like our venue, nothing's better. We're definitely lucky to have the Lark experience every day at practice, we'll be sad to see them go. |

I think you guys get a ton of respect - but never acknowledge it. Why do all west coasters think they get no respect? Every east coast hs sailor knows the entire west coast program i.e. Point Loma, SDHS, etc. The whole East Coast/ West Coast argument only holds merit if you care what the Boston teams think. Some of the loudest voices in college sailing barely acknowledge sailing outside of the Boston mafia which has to do with the Charles River Baisen housing the highest concentration of college teams. I.E. BC, Harvard, MIT, BU, and Tufts with other teams traveling to the river/Quincy Bay frequently being Bowdoin, Dartmouth, UVM, Yale, CGA... It's pretty tough to argue a better situation. But these teams acknowledge that west coast is legit. That's why they band together. Why is Cali and Hawaii so defensive? |

Sounds cool. Let's talk about why no one ever recognizes the west coast sailing community. We've got tons of good sailors, but no respect. |

This thing you are looking at right now is a topic. On Sailgroove, every video, photo, blog, article--pretty much anything--has a topic associated with it. When you add a comment to those things, they get stored in the topic database called The Word. You can find a link to it in the top right of every page. If you ever want to see what's getting a lot of buzz on Sailgroove, just go there.
I started this topic not by commenting on a video or blog, but by clicking "Create New Topic" (try it for yourself!) I did this to let you know about topics and to introduce a new weekly segment called Topic Thursdays. Each week I will start a topic for discussion and hopefully all of you will add your two cents. It should be fun.
This week, the topic is: Topic Thursdays: What Topics?
I need some suggestions for the kinds of subjects you think would be good topics for this segment. If I don't end up using yours, feel free to start a topic discussion of your own!
