Hey # 5 , sailors who know how to sail come out of the mid west too...

ever heard of annie haeger ? all - american ? arguably the best women's sailor in college sailing over the last few years? she's from the mid west
grow up & expand your horizons

Impressive 2 years ago

I cant believe that she could keep a straight face for all that!

Thanks to the UW Sailing Team for putting on a great event despite the conditions. I didn't sail well but I acknowledge all the hard work that goes on to host such a major competition. It kills me to see people criticizing hard work.

Great work Wisco! Y'all planned and executed and excellent regatta. It was a lot of work on your part and it showed right down to the cheese hats. It is unfortunate that the wind did not cooperate, but that is not something that we can control. It's not easy to handle the comments when people are upset, but y'all did an excellent job of staying positive and continuing to work hard to make it a great event for everyone. Texas had a great time! Thanks!!

really, reaaaally? 2 years ago

reaaaaly,
This event was a huge undertaking for wisco that took years prepare for. It was an extremely well managed event. Having a lack of breeze was an obstacle the team masterfully overcame in their effort to put on such a fantastic event.

If you participated in the regatta, it is a shame that you would insult it. You ough to thank the Wisco team for their efforts.

Don't let #5 represent NEISA. The conditions were less than ideal, but we all had a great time. WISCO, you should know that your work was well appreciated and we look forward to having you in the northeast next fall/spring

This girl is straight floing! Not being phased at all by the stashie shave off! That is awesome, I bet it was an awesome event with such a great team to make this College Nationals happen! Great job!

Also, Looks like she decompressed the whole experience here. Probably a whole world has been lifted off your shoulders, but must feet good to know things were a success.

Student Run 2 years ago

College Sailing is all about student run programs, not the coaches from the NE who complain. Congrats to WIsco for running a regatta like this even if there were some snags (I wasn't there so can't comment on those). Wind is another issue and it seems like the RC was just trying to get races off.

in addition, no one on our current team was even around when we won the bid to host nationals. when is the last time you took on any sort of responsibility of this magnitude?

there's a reason we went to school here... so we don't have to put up with you people.

wisco 2 years ago

dear haters,
we don't control the wind. we aren't on the race committee. so what did we do that made it such a horrible event?
you,
wisco

GREAT point roy, couldnt agree more.
also look at the fact that the event was run ENTIRELY by college students at WISCO, In my mind that is a job VERY well done!
and #5 when was the last time you volunteered for race committee. it is far from an easy job.
a top level and long event well run.
nice work WISCO

#5...to put it politely you are a fool...I've been to regattas in SD, SF, Newport, Annapolis..the list goes on and have spent DAYS waiting for wind in ALL those locations...oh and have you ever heard of Buddy Melges...to name just one...as I said, you're a fool

Nice work WISCO
How can you honestly believe that? This is why the midwest doesn't host event that ACTUALLY matter. Bad breeze, and poor race management. It's no surprise people that KNOW how to sail come from places like SD, SF, and Newport. This was a horrendous event that will not be forgotten soon. Keep in mind my alma matter finished second....

nice work wisco? Yeah, hey, congrats on a horrible event.
