Every year, US Sailing puts on a symposium for sailing programs. The event draws some of the biggest names in the sport, as they pass on their knowledge to aid in its development. This year, Sailgroove has been given access to all the athletes and experts and will be bringing them to you. So in case you can't make it to San Diego, check back here and we'll give you the scoop.

US SAILING's National Sailing Programs Symposium- Stacked with Experts and Events
Next week, sailing program organizers from across the country will convene at US SAILING's 26th Annual National Sailing Programs Symposium, (NSPS) in San Diego, CA at the Bahia Resort, from January 7-11, 2009. Sponsored by LaserPerformance, this year's Symposium theme is "Changing Lives Through Sailing" and features relevant subjects for people with various levels of involvement in sail training from first year organizers to veteran program directors.
The agenda is packed with events including lectures and discussions led by such sailing experts as Olympic Gold medalist, Anna Tunnicliffe; Racing Rules guru, Dave Perry; Sailing Scuttlebutt editor, Craig Leweck; Chairman of the U.S. Olympic Sailing Program, Dean Brenner and many more. Keynote speakers include Betsy Alison and Nick Scandone on the Beijing Paralympic Experience and Robbie Haines and Stan Honey on Managing a Teen Team. Additionally, optional coaching modules and a full-day workshop, entitled "Enhancing Your Organization's Performance," are schedule for 1/5 and 1/6.
